Frequently asked questions

What kind of image gives the best result?

Flat artwork with clear edges and a few solid colors, such as logos, badges and lettering. Photos with gradients are reduced to a small number of thread colors, so simplify them first for a cleaner stitch-out.

Why does my DST file show the wrong colors?

DST only stores needle movements and color-stop commands, not thread colors. Your machine shows its own default palette. Use the free spec sheet to see which Madeira thread goes on each needle.

My JPG has a white background. Will it be stitched?

No. With background removal on, the dominant edge color is treated as background and left unstitched. Turn it off if you want a filled background.
