Frequently asked questions

What kind of image gives the best result?

Flat artwork with clear edges and a few solid colors, such as logos, badges and lettering. Photos with gradients are reduced to a small number of thread colors, so simplify them first for a cleaner stitch-out.

Why does my DST file show the wrong colors?

DST only stores needle movements and color-stop commands, not thread colors. Your machine shows its own default palette. Use the free spec sheet to see which Madeira thread goes on each needle.

Which machines use DST?

DST is the Tajima format and is read by almost every commercial multi-needle machine, including Tajima, Barudan, SWF, Ricoma, Happy and Melco.
